Fort Meadow Brook is a relatively small tributary of the Assabet River that flows out of the Fort Meadow Reservoir near Memorial Beach in Marlborough. The Fort Meadow Reservoir itself is fed by Flagg Brook and Sheep Fall Brook. Fort Meadow Brook passes into Hudson soon after it leaves the reservoir, running through a woodsy residential neighborhood.
The brook parallels Shay Road for about half a mile before passing under the road.
It then flows under Lewis St. and Chestnut St.
A beaver dam beneath the bridge on Chestnut St. created this wide swampy area upstream, but the dam has since been removed. Fort Meadow Brook then flows under Main St. before turning to the north and running through a swampy area as it makes its way to the Assabet River.
