Innovation Workshop, July 13
Innovation is vital to our quality of life. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - YOU are the innovators of the future!
Intel and OARS have teamed up to offer a free exciting hands-on workshop on how to transform information into useful innovations and solutions. It will provide an opportunity to apply new ideas to solve real environmental challenges in the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord River watersheds.
The same principles can be applied to problem-solving in general, a skill valued for college admissions and career develop. The workshop also prepares students interested in entering the 2013/2014 Intel-OARS Environmental Innovators Contest.
Students participating in a workshop held in 2012 had this to say: “The workshop really helped me understand much more about innovation." "The exercises were fun and helpful-especially the ones where we created ideas.”
Date and Time: Saturday, July 13 from noon -3 pm (includes lunch))
Location: Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, 680 Hudson Road, Sudbury

About the Presenters:
Paul Goldman and Ingeborg Hegemann will present the workshop and guide students in the learning activities. Dr. Goldman has over 30 years of research & development experience, 13 patents, and has supervised over 20 college internships. Ms. Hegemann has over 30 years of environmental consulting experience and teaches Wetland Ecology at UMass/Lowell.
